1. What are "The World's Greatest Stories from the World's Greatest Book?

The World's Greatest StoriesTM are a unique series of Bible stories combining the excitement of a story, the accuracy of a Bible narration, and the highest quality production values. The text of each of the stories is taken directly, word for word, from the Bible. They are told using the art of a storyteller, incorporating carefully chosen music and sound effects. The result is a very exciting story that comes straight from the words of Scripture.

2. What makes "The World's Greatest Stories unique?

The World's Greatest StoriesTM are not simply rewritten Bible stories, or stories about the Bible. They are the actual Biblical accounts brought to life in a powerfully dramatic way. Children love stories, and often memorize the stories they listen to. Many parents have commented that these stories are thier children's favorites, and that they have memorized chapters or even a book of the Bible by simply listening to the stories.

3. To whom do these stories appeal?

Children from ages 4 and up love these stories. But, they also appeal to a braod age range and will benefit Christian families, in general. We like to say that they are "adult stories that children loive to listen to"

They are great for rides in the car, listening to at night when going to bed, for family devotions, Sunday School classes, for anyone interested in understanding the Bible better, or for people who have always thought of the Bible as a boring book.

4. What has been the response?

Many people have written or called or spoken to us totally unsolicited, to express their enthusiasm for the stories. They are amazed that what they are listening to is the actual Biblical text. They appreciate the extreme care that has been taken in the productions to assure that the character voices, music and sound effects uplift and support the text without distracting the listener or drawing attention to themselves. They are excited to see their children listen to the stories over and over again to the point of memorizing them.

5. Why are the CDs and the tapes so inexpensive?

6. Is it true that Mr. Sarris memorizes the stories before he goes into a studio to record them?

Yes. That is what gives the stories such power. Mr. Sarris is not just reading the text. He has carefully thought through and meditated on the subtle nuances of the stories to understand them and make them come alive.

7. When did Mr. Sarris begin telling Bible stories?

The first story he told was the birth account of Christ on Christmas Eve of 1985. About a year earlier, he had recorded a commercial for an internationally know storyteller and been invited to attend one of this man's performances. As he watched, the first thought that came to Mr. Sarris' mind was, "I wonder if that approach will work with Scripture?" He went home from the performance and began memorizing some Biblical passgaes, applying the technique of a dramatic storyteller. The result is The World's Greatest StoriesTM.

8. What version of the Bible does Mister Sarris use for the stories??

Mr, Sarris memorizes and performs the stories in the New International Version of the Bible. However, the stories come on CD or cassette in both the New International Version (NIV) and the King James Version (KJV).
